HENthusiastic
Ooh you naughty girls, if i wan't at a family 'do' on Saturday I'd be tagging along for a look! Come on Yorky Pud, come on over, and chook visit. We've also got my new eglu to play with, and there are other chooks around the corner we could go and visit. And we could go up to our horses yard and meet their ex-batts. Loads of chook fun to be had........... better than family ps what has happened to the smilies?? Plum
This is so funny. Don't know how I missed this thread. Oh yes I keep falling asleep. Can't wait for Sat to hear what you nuts have got up to. Shaun I knew you were nearly there (did you re-order the last lot of girls, who were such a suprise - NOT)
Plum
Wonder how they got on. Has ShaunW started the run or gone to look at laced wyandottes with HEN and Mostin Who brought what back?
HENthusiastic
We are safely back! No chickens were purchased but a lovely day was had by all. Mostin and ShaunW arrived and we all drank tea and ate rocky road (cooked by OH specially for SW). ShaunW got all manly and used his chainsaw to cut down one of our trees and chopped it into little managable sized pieces AND tidied them all neatly away in a corner of the garden. Photos to follow for his fan club members to admire. Meanwhile, Me, Mostin and OH played putting the eglu together on the front lawn and ushered all the girls in to it (so they didn't get headaches listening to Shauns noisy saw ). (Well the new eglu had to be test run didnt it ). Then me OH and Mostin left SHaunW to play with his saw while we went off to see Wyndotttes, and the exbatts at our horses yard. Returned home where we all had a nice meal (ShaunW was now allowed to rest after his hard work!) The wyndottes were lovely girls, but we are all set on our previous chickening plans, so we were safe after all ShaunW and Mostin left for home without their bottle of 'thank you' wine that I meant to give them before they left . The End
laurmurf
What a happy chicken bedtime story! You are all very good girls..... and boy
Ain't Nobody Here
I'm very impressed No chickens were purchased . Didn't expect that one . Are you sure it was a good idea to leave Shaun alone with the saw . I'm surprised there was anything left standing . Don't feel bad about the wine . When they were at my house I forgot I had cake to give them and also forgot to even offer a 2nd cup of coffee . (They'd brought nice biscuits, in my defence .) We could start our own thread about the food and drink we've forgotten to give to Mostin and ShaunW, couldn't we? I've managed to neglect them second cups of anything every time (hard to make tea when one is gabbliing, I barely came up for air) and my kids usually sidle in and scoff anything that was meant to stay on the table for nibbling. I would just drink the wine, HEN, I'm sure ShaunW would be so pleased to know how much you enjoyed it on his behalf
HENthusiastic
Are you sure it was a good idea to leave Shaun alone with the saw . I'm surprised there was anything left standing . quote] He did a fantastic job. He even chopped all the wood into little bits and stacked it up neatly in a corner. He was a total star . I took photos, which I will post soon.

mostin
ShaunW and Mostin left for home without their bottle of 'thank you' wine that I meant to give them before they left . The End Awwwwwwww bless you, we got a thank you woolly chicken and a chicken biscuit, and a tin of rocky roads, what more could we wish for . We could start our own thread about the food and drink we've forgotten to give to Mostin and ShaunW, couldn't we? Oh don't , you're all such good cooks, I won't be able to fit through the door to leave your houses if I eat all the goodis you offer me . It was a lovely day on Saturday, but Plum is right, it is just the beggining rather than the end. Hen will be able to build her bigger run now and get more girls, and as soon as Shaun finishes my run I can move my girls in and get on the waiting list for some ex-batts to fill my eglu . I can't wait .
