Single hen

Yesterday I saw a notice about 5 minutes away from home saying "pullets for sale" . We have an empty eglu in the garden and are going to pop in today, just for a look! Do you think that is safe? We MUST not get chooks because we have two cream legbars on order. We really want cream legbars and lovely blue eggs, so surely this will keep us safe from accidentally buying a couple (or 3) POL pullets today?

Hen has sent me a text because she can't get to a PC. The bloke there breeds and shows Wyandottes. She didn't get any but I get the feeling she may be waivering and may be going back for a second visit .

The worst part of it is we are going over to Hen's and her OH's on Sat for my OH to chop down one of their trees. I just know I am going to end up down at the hen place with her and then there will be no hope for either of us .

Here I am *waves frantically*. I WAS safe! The lady didn't know very much about the chooks and I only got to see two, a lovely black and white hen and cock. He was very splendid. The rest of the hens are aparently a little way off. She said that he breeds and shows them and is "very serious about it"! I have to say they were very attractive; but the cream legbars have got my heart.

However, if Mostin wants to go and take a look on Saturday and the bloke is there.......... who knows!

 

ps The tree chopping is so we can extend our coop and have..................... more chickens
