Phonix
Hey guys, im off to start my LPC in Chester in Spetember so have to start thinking about moving there. Im moving with one of my uni friends but theres just 2 of us so we're having to look for rooms in houses and let the landlord find the other people Im sure it'll be odd cos for the past 2 years ive lived with friends not strangers!! I think the areas we'll be looking in are Christleton and Vicars Cross - does anyone know the areas? Going to view some houses there on sat - hope they're nice - no pics of them on t'internet so no idea what to expect yet hope theres a nice one Any hints or tips?? anywhere to avoid?? xXx
Ardene5
Hi We do not know much about this area but have you tried this...... http://www.cheshire.gov.uk/CommunityAndLiving/ Best of luck, Ian & Valerie
missuscluck
Hi Phonix Im from Chester and know it well. Both areas are very nice and you shouldnt have any problems with either. The only thing I would say is that Vicars Cross is not to far to walk into town. Probably about half an hour. My long term x lived in Vicars cross and we used to walk home from a night out regularly. Hope it goes well for you and you find somewhere good to live. You will love living in Chester. Its wicked.
Phonix
OMG just been looking today and nothing at all that the 2 of us liked. Everything had single beds but i like my double and I like to spread out all my work on it on when im in work mode and a single just isn't big enough!!! Also lots of mould and dinginess generally - I know its a student house but I want to live relatively cleanly and come out healthy and well at the other end!! One even came with a live-in-granny!! v.v.strange xXx
Plum
How convenient a live in granny, she might mother you Sorry you didn't have any luck. You will probably have to buy a bed, most places will have single. Keep going you'll find something but I have seen some grim places that students live. Phonix
this Granny did not seem the mothering type!!! More the creepy, worryingly quiet, feeling the need to interview us, wierd, strange type that would exect you to hoover and dust everyday etc etc Fingers crossed it gets better! xXx
Fizzle Knit
I was thinking about the year I spent in Chester only today! (Only then - way back in 1992-3 it was the LSF, not the LPC) I had a great year there, and loved the place. I lived on a road called Garden Lane, just outside Northgate (?) and very near to the other (non-law) college, and really the wrong end of town for the College of Law. However it was just a short walk into town - so would bus it from there, or cycle in, either on the main roads or along the canal tow-path which went from the bck of our garden and straight to Christleton. (Which was why I was thinking about it today, because I went for a cycle ride along the canal in Leicester) Hope you find something suitable soon!
