I am really interested to see that you use Eglus on a large scale and would love to know how you ended up with them, please could I ask.......

Did you start with wooden housing?

How did you end up with your first Eglu?

Did you choose the colours?

Why don't you have any orange Eglus?

What reaction do you get from other smallholders/farmers to the Eglu?

I hope you don't mind me asking :anxious:

Not at all :D

We started with one of the first Eglus

Loved it so much that we bought a recon when we went to add one more hen but came back with two :D We then built a walk in run and had 10 hens - 2 Eglus.

Moved to a smallholding and looked at wooden housing as we wanted more hens - but we just couldn't do it! So.....we started to buy on Ebay and when the Cube was announced I bought from people who had two Eglus but wanted to have a Cube. We rescued a couple of hens who needed rehoming......and they came with their own Eglus, so I didn't choose all the colours :D

Other farmers/smallholders don't really say much - they just shake their heads :D - but they mostly seem interested!

We bought some wooden housing for table birds who are only temporary guests - we really hate having to clean them out.....compared to the Eglus which are so easy. We also have red mite problems with the wooden housing :(

.....and we don't have any orange Eglus.........because I really don't like the colour orange :vom: By choice, I would have pink/purple/lilac combinations :D

.......and before we stapled the run netting to them I had to draw them on a piece of paper and get the colours in an order I could live with  OCD? - not me :D

Thank you :D

I was very curious to know how you came to keep them all in Eglus, I am happy now

I love that you had to do a plan, I can imagine it now "we can't ahve a green one next to a green one" etc... I would be the same :D

We have just bought a wooden house for our table birds and I can see its going to be a lot harder to keep clean than my lovely Eglu :(
