leopardstar
We've had our pekin bantums for over a year now and managed to keep our lawn pretty good by moving the cube around regularly but for the last few weeks they have been MADLY scratching and making huge bare patches. My other half is not impressed! Why would they suddenly start this behaviour???
Gamebird
Spring fever??
Hen Watch
Do you have a dustbath in the run? Are they desperately trying to make one? This winter my lot have had a third of my garden to include some lawn and spent raised beds to dig in. But hubbie has just reclaimed his raised beds for planting so the Omlet fencing has been moved and now my lot have grass only. They've been doing a fair bit of scratching too. I suspect they miss their plot of mud to dig in. I am moving them in a few weeks though. Have you similarly changed their plot? Or maybe above is right...... Spring fever. Plum
Yes I thought dustbath. Perhaps they have a few parasites and want a clean up.
Egluntyne
Definitely sounds as if they are making dustbaths. All perfectly normal behaviour.
