Griffin
My ladies are in disgrace They've stolen half a pot of mealworms I blame Eliza, I blame her for most things but she had previously demonstrated her shelving mountaineering skills to me so I should've known the mealworms were not safe. Big chicks are in their coop & run in the garage and I've been leaving the side door to the garage open in this nice weather so they get some fresh air. Eliza showed me yesterday that she knows that if she jumps on top of the big chicks run, she can hop across to the chest freezer then across to a shelving unit. I've just been outside and found the mealworm tub has been removed and aided by the great height it fell from, the lid came off No treats for them later! I wonder if she kept quiet and ate them all herself or if she let out a shriek of joy that alerted the others? Remaining tub of mealworms now safely out of the way although I'm sure it's only a matter of time before Eliza works out how to open the back door

chelsea
I can just imagine them, bet last night they were huddled whispering in a circle planning "operation mealworm" with flipchart and pointy stick Who said hens were stoopid?!
smanners
This made me laugh Hens are totally crafty! One of our ex batts sneaks into the kitchen at every opportunity and legs it as fast as she can straight for the cat food. An olympic runner couldn't get there any faster The cats are totally spooked and she's always had a huge beakful before we can stop her
Chickvic
Ours are champion at stealing the cat food in record time and Opal has been known to 'accidently' knock over the mealworms and scoff herself silly!
