My three girls all sleep together in the nest area - I am kind of ok with it as they are obviously happy there and warm but at the same time the poo in there that I have to clear out every day could start to get annoying.

So I wondered if this is a common thing or if as they get older and weather warmer they will choose to leave the comfort of the nest and sleep on the bars!?

Thanks

Michelle

My two Orps always sleep on the bars. Fifi, my old girl, roosts on the edge of the nest box, and depending on which way round she is overnight, sometime we have a nice clean nest box in the morning, and sometimes not :anxious:.

Butch and Flo both seemed to sleep in the nest box and Ginger sits in the porthole but I think this has changed now and they all squash into the nest box as there is hardly any poo in the roosting area but lots in the nesting box. I don't mind though as I assume it keeps them warmer all being together.

Sometimes all 3 in the nest box sometimes some on roosting bars and nest box. I always have to clear the nest box out every morning as well as the tray. Mine seem to be complete poo machines, I've never seen so much coming form something relatively small.
