PE, lovely pics, are your girls laying every day?

Mine are laying, so they haven't feathered up as much as yours :( . I've told them they don't have to lay, it's not compulsory, they've retired now, but most days we get 3 or 4  some of them are whoppers too  !

I must have had mine 8 weeks now, I can't believe it, they are so different to the early days. DS who is away at boarding school most of the week is surprised every weekend at just how much they have changed!

Only one, Tulip, will let me pick her up regularly, she follows me like a little shadow chirruping at me constantly. Peanut has been picked up straight from the nestbox when she had decided to lay in the (cube orange) as I was about to go out (half an hour late!!!), but not otherwise. She'd rather turn herself inside out than let me lay a hand on her! Lily has only let me pick her up early on when she was more scared of the Orpies than me, bless her, and I was the only escape route! Hazel is too quick on her feet to catch! They now all have bands on their legs (except Peanut!), so are easier to tell apart & keep account of when they choose to wander off into the veg patch! Once Peanut feathers up properly, she will be difficult to tell from Buttercup, so maybe we'll have a concerted effort to tag her - at the mo she has a purple back, so not that difficult yet!!

Yesterday I was in the garden watching them all freerange happily, as you do  , & I was flabbergasted to see the Batties walking under Daisy's tummy (yellow Lab), several times. Why do you never have a camera when you need it?!

I must get the camera out tomorrow & take some up-to-date piccies.

They are still in their own (blue eglu) & run, although DH wants to get them into the WIR sooner rather than later.....I will be the judge of that though! At the mo, they are far too feisty & keep picking on my 3 chooks, so I'm happy to leave them in their own run etc if I'm not here.
