Ygerna
I have searched the forum but cannot find the lemoncello recipe. I *think* its one of poets. I read about it ages ago and have an abundance of lemons so thought I would give it a go but can't find the recipe. Does anyone have it please? Chook n Boo Mum
Would this be the one? http://uktv.co.uk/food/recipe/aid/513100 It's the recipe I used, recommended by Poet, and it is very very scrummy - just make sure you are sitting down when you drink it! Ygerna
How silly! Its the first of May today and I am girlishly excited about being able to bottle this up for drinking in the next week Yesterday I made another batch of the Sweet Chilli Jelly and whilst washing the cider vinegar bottle up for re-cycling I realised that its perfect for bottling up the Limoncello So, today, I have to make another batch of the SCJ, to get a second bottle
Charlottechicken
***This*** was the first Limoncello thread on the forum I think, and has loads of links to different recipes on it. I've never made it since but it was quite nice if I remember

Mrs Frugal
It's absolutely marvellous . We've nearly finished the batch I made at Christmas and I've just made 2 more bottles. Really gorgeous stuff! We've been drinking it mixed with some of Lidl's cloudy lemonade which is really sharp and the two lemony flavours are divine together. I'm not a great one for fizzy drinks but I think Lidl's cloudy lemonade is a winner I bought two bottles last week, only one remains Great taste, no aspartame, and really cheap too

Ygerna
I used really cheap vodka . I used Smirnoff as it was on offer and was cheaper than the stores own brand.
redhotchick
Do you really leave this for a whole month? I guess you would have to leave it for at least a week or two? Come on confess! How long do you actually leave it for?
Mrs Frugal
I leave mine for the whole 4 weeks to let the maximum lemony flavour infuse with the vodka. Divine!!
Ygerna
I left it for one month, to the day. I've given some to a friend to try and he has declared it delicious.

Mrs Frugal
Just scrub them under hot water, Cathy. That should remove the wax OK.

redhotchick
Just scrub them under hot water, Cathy. That should remove the wax OK. Maybe with a dash of washing up liquid too.
