kayandrob
Here are a few before and after pics of our ex batts which we got through the battery hen welfare trust at the end of Feb, sadly we had to take Madge back to them as she was picking on Beaky very badly as she knew there was something wrong with her beak, she is now living with their chickens in their field. I can't believe how much Scraggy has feathered up already, she is such a cheeky monster, they have much more personailties than our little pekins Scraggy when we got her Scraggy a few weeks ago Scraggy today Beaky this week (her poor beak)

AussieChick
Absolutely shocking how badly they were treated - and how absolutely wonderful that you are giving them a chance at a new life. I wonder what's going on in their heads?!

kayandrob
Thanks everyone, I am surprised at how quickly Scraggy has come on since Feb, she is a cheeky thing, and Beaky is so lovely, I think she is my fav although I know I shouldn't have faves, she even gets a peck from Boo Boo our pekin who is normally at the bottom of the order and Beaky cowers bless! They are both still so skinny though any tips on how to fatten them up a bit? xxx

dancing cloud
What a transformation! They are a real credit to your care. Well done you and them My little monsters took their own time to fatten up and some are naturally of a slighter build than others too. Daisy still looks rather slim, whereas Clover's quite a big girl (she's always looked rather matronly and reminded me of Hattie Jacques ) Keep the photos coming - there can never be too many photos of happy ex-batts! kayandrob
Thanks for all the responses, I do love my little Beaky, she is so placid and docile, they have been out for quite a long time today all together with the pekins, the pekins accept Beaky to a point until Scraggy decided she def does not like the little pekins and then every time Beaky tried to join up with them they ran away scared, we have to keep Scraggy away from them or all hell breaks out, pekins get all spooked and try to fly away from her but end up flying into the fence or wall (silly things!). xxx
