Boybeck
I've been wondering about this, why do chickens crouch when you go near them?
Jules.
They think you're a cockeral......don't ask me why! Someone's hens on here crouch for their pet dog! Crouching is a great sign that your hen is maturing & will lay soon, if she doesn't already do so.

Jules.
She has laid a little white egg today, we have just found it in the nest box. Clever girl It was just under a week from the first crouch to the first egg.

Aggienator
1st egg in the nest box that is clever. Ours laid them one in the flower bed and one in the middle of the run on top of a pile of poop It is amazing how exciting the first egg is (and I still say thank you for every one).
