Egluntyne
Trouble is they don't stay like that for long. Mine are 3 weeks old now and ugly as sin.
Redwing
My day-olds got very ugly very quickly too they are mean with it too All they do is stomp around the run shouting! I do hope they turn out to be tasty! I would like to hatch table birds and also would like to raise some chickens for pets, we have four lovely girls and think I could fit another four in
Charlottechicken
Did you get the Novital one? That's the one I had, and it worked OK for me. When are you getting your eggs

moochoo
You're just encouragable! Let us know how you get on with it. We may decide to hatch our own table birds. Might work out better than organising day olds.

When are you getting your eggs I did get that one - on your recommendation I am awfully impatient but will wait for it (and the book I have ordered) to arrive then get the eggs Can I suggest that when you get the incubator, and before you put eggs in it, check the bulb size (I think it is a 40 watt SES) and go out and buy a couple of replacement bulbs? They are a lot cheaper than from the incubator suppliers and are standard sizes too. Without these the incubator is useless, and if a bulb blows when you have eggs in there they will be a gonner Better safe than sorry! Redwing
Thanks! I ordered one spare with the incy but didn't realise that they are standard bulbs - that is useful to know thanks for that
