Moonie is dying **She's gone**

Recommended Posts

Moonie has been up and down for a couple of weeks now. We can't find anything specific wrong. She's not responded to antibiotics, tonics or anything else.

Moonie came to us on 30 August last year and was the BHWT's cover star for their Spring Issue pictured wearing my husband's half marathon medal (see my avatar). She was the first of the latest ex-batts to feather up, the first to dush bathe when she first arrived and the first to meet the big girls. She has had just 8 months of freedom.

The last couple of days she has been very very sleepy and I think today she is having her last day of sunshine. I hope she drifts off in her sleep.

oh bless her :( sorry to hear it but it must be a comfort to know she's had such a lovely 8 months of freedom and probably inspired a lot of people to adopt some girls xxx

How sad, if it is the end I hope she just goes in her sleep too, but don't give up, I've had a poorly hen for a while now and kept expecting to find her in the nest but she keeps on going, goodness only knows what's wrong. Fingers crossed for Moonie

Thanks everyone. Sadly Moonie died at 10.30 pm last night.

I brought her in so she could have access to water all night. Then we heard a massive amount of flapping and by the time we got downstairs she was gone.

It doesn't matter how many deaths you experience, it doesn't seem to get any easier.
