Yes it is, 2 crimes - spitting on/at someone, common assault. Spitting on the floor etc - a crime.
sandyhas3chucks
REALLY? then why on earth are sports men NOT prosecuted. Seen Tennis players do it on camera too! Someone want to start a petiton?
Valkyrie
I've seen some of the England cricket team do it too. Seems to be common practice now - still disgusting. I remember years ago they did "gob of the match" I think it was on Baddiel (? spelling) and Skinner but not sure. OH said they can't carry hankies around with them - I retorted that they should use their shirts (after years of telling number one son not to do just that when he was little) or swallow - bit of pflegm (?spelling) or swallowing a fly won't hurt! Phonix
Spitting just shouldnt be done - sports star or no sports star - its discusting and even worse when its shown on tv its setting an awful example. There have been cases prosecuted for assault/battery involving defendant spitting on victim and as it is unwanted touching it is unlawful. (1st year stuff and now in the 3rd year so bit sketchy on technicalities). I work in a shop part time and HATE it when the scallies walk past stinking of whetever theyve been smoking and thinking they look hard in all black, spitting all over the floor! NO they just look like the disgusting scum of the earth that they are!!!! RANT!!! sorry rant over lol x
A chickychickychick-ENN!!
I spoke to a paramedic today. They had been sent to a 'swine flu emergency' because an idiot had eaten a fajita and was worried they'd contracted swine flu because it was Mexican food. This isn't a joke, it was a real situation. And some numpty in a call centre had decided they needed to send an ambulance crew to them. Un-flipping-believable eh?!
