Steph101
I am 42, so this was my era! They were fantastic! We saw them at the 02 Academy in Birmingham and it was the best gig i have ever been to. It was like like time stood still for them, they looked and sounded exactly the same - so much energy! It was funny seeing everyone my age dressing like they did thirty years ago, though... blokes who used to be skinheads are now balding Dads, so they are halfway there before putting their Fred Perry shirt on! Want to go and see them again in Coventry, but there are no tickets left! You can get them, but the price has doubled... I'm sorely tempted... kitchens
Ohh I bet that was good. Very envious. I think they are playing at Brixton but I'm probably too late.
Steph101
I wouldn't have missed it for the world. I saw Oasis at Knebworth but this gig was far better! Try and see them if you can - it was truly amazing!
Snowy
Oh wow, bet they were great! Same era - I loved the Specials!
Steph101
Neville Staple danced around like a teenager, and Terry Hall looked and sounded as cool and as moody as ever! What really struck me was the quality of the musicians - and the music is timeless. those lyrics are as relevant today as they were then. Guest
The whole reason I'm doing the Saturday of V this year rather than the Sunday. SOOO looking forward to the Specials. I also wanna go to Madstock but I have "Ooops, word censored!"ody to go with
Steph101
Hmm, I fancy seeing them at the V Festival as well. I'd also fancy Madstock if the Specials were there too. I liked all the two tone bands, but the specials were the originals that inspired the likes of The beat, selecter, Madness, Bad Manners, Dexys... Ranking Roger from the beat did a DJ set before and after the gig as well. it was a real treat. So nostalgic.

Geoid
The Specials! I had to do a (50 page) project on them for media! "you've done much to much, much to young"
Willow
It was funny seeing everyone my age dressing like they did thirty years ago, though... blokes who used to be skinheads are now balding Dads, so they are halfway there before putting their Fred Perry shirt on! I went to see Blondie and few years ago and it was a very narrow age range, made me realise how much older we'd all got In the middle of the show someone lit up a cigarette so Debbie Harry stopped and really told him off - some of the guys in the group I was with were sighing and saying how great that would have been to have been told off by her
Steph101
Decided to book V Festival tickets to see them now. Weren't they brilliant, Clash - I loved the way they came on stage singing 'Enjoy yourself' like tired old men in ther dark, then the stage lit up, and they started singing 'Do the dog'... the crowd went beserk!
