Stevie
Went to the nearby poultry breeder today and bought another pair of chooks. I got a pair of Goldlines (Gingernuts essentially) cos Onion my original Omlet Gingernut is by far the most outgoing and friendly hen when compared to Sage the Pepperpot whos a bit nervy.I've got Sage n' Onion freeranging garden at moment while Paxo & Tika spend a few hours investigating the run they will all share and all seems well at moment.Theres plenty of space for all four of them because i made an enclosure which i attached to the Eglu so means they have approximately 12 square metres of ground with shrubs, dirt etc to do their thing in. Tika on left-Paxo on right when i got them home. Onion on left and Sage on right investigating the new arrivals! Fluffy knickers! Checking each other out through the wire. Onion looking them over. Mazzarina
I love the second photo - it looks like Onion and Sage are saying 'I'm sorry, have we been formally introduced?'!

Stevie
Well i've bitten the bullet and put them all together to see how they get along cos i wont be here tommorrow as im back to work. Onion the Gingernut has always ruled the roost with Sage and she's chased the new pair a little bit which was expected, but nothing for me to be concerned about.I know they've got to get the hyierachy out of the way and they should all settle down down in a day or so.Sage the black pepperpot is a submisive hen so she will be fine with the new ones. Egluntyne
.Sage the black pepperpot is a submisive hen so she will be fine with the new ones. Don't take it for granted. She may become aggressive with the newer girls.

Stevie
Well things are looking good at moment.Dont get me wrong-they're not all ready to hit the town together on a girlie night out,but Tika and Paxo have spent a bit of time in the Eglu while Sage n' Onion have been scratching around in the run.Provided they go i there this evening-Sage n' Onion will automatically go to roost with them.
