Old Speckled Hen
Pardon me for being an ignorant menopausal broad but what is malt extract ? my minds thinking marmite or horlicks - surely not. A thick syrup containing sugars, vitamins, and minerals, derived from malted grain.
Plum
Now that brings back memories. For some reason my mum used to give us a spoonful every day.

Plum
Perhaps having that as a child is why I'm having hot flushes now.

Yorkshire Pudding
at you lot! I am an unusual specimen in that I can predict exactly what I'm going to be like, because I've already had one (artificially induced) menopause in my twenties. The docs shut down all my hormones for six months to shrink some fibroids, it worked very nicely and they were able to remove them afterwards. Luckily all my hormones went back to normal afterwards. I had the lot. Moods, forgetfulness, weepiness, water retention, hot flushes throughout day and night (friends could see them coming before I felt them - I changed colour!), and acne . My Mum had a pretty tough time before me, so I think I may follow in her footsteps and need to seek help when things start to happen. If I'm lucky, either the Mirena will work wonders (although no sign of that yet) or I'll have had a hysterectomy so at least will avoid the flooding. Whatever happens I may be trying out the phytoestrogen plan - can't do any harm and may well do a lot of good (and cake or flapjack is the nicest medicine I ever heard of!). I LOVE malt so may have to find a tin - if I can only remember what I need it for...
