cabbagepatch
this is probably a very silly question I got my eglu two weeks ago so can I assume that its the Mark 2 version?
Mrs Frugal
Yes, it is a Mark 2. The Mark 1s were phased out around about June 2005, from what I remember.
ballgunner
i thought you could keep 4 in a normal eglu ? and 5 bantums ,how much can you keep in a normal one then?
Guest
I have a mark 2, and I have had 5 normal chickens in it, very comfortably, although the run isn't big enough for more than 2 or 3.
cabbagepatch
i've found all this enlightening because looking at the website and brochure it says the eglu can hold up to 4 hens but it doesn't say that the run it comes with is only big enough for 2 or 3. seems a bit crafty because we got 3 and I feel that I should really buy the extension as well. The Dogmother
I've got a mark 2 with 7 bantams on it and plenty of room at night. They freerange most of the day, but I have a run extension, and they are fine if confined to the run for a few days.
