Ain't Nobody Here
That is such a beautiful little garden . The eglu (and rubber chippings!) look great .
bigmommasally
You've all got such lovely neat gardens, I'm sure size doesn't matter. Mine is average size for a town garden, about 45' deep by 60' wide and very overlooked. Will try to post some pics later, though it's nowhere near as neat as yours. Ain't Nobody Here
Should've seen mine a month or two ago - I wouldn't have been posting pictures then .

Erm not all neat - did you look at mine, peas on the table, upturned pool on the lawn, kids toys all over..... Look what I left on the table  Jennyhenny What is it? A waterpistol? Can't quite make it out!
Jennyhenny
Yes it is a water pistol and if you look closely behind the palm on the left you can just see the sheets and blankets I throw over at night to darken the run and eglu Jennyhenny
bigmommasally
Pics of my garden, thought I'd take them now whilst the blossom is looking pretty - excuse hubby in the background chatting to his latest bird called Robin
Jennyhenny
Looks lovely bigmommasally, I have one of those blue shrubs, only tiny compared to yours though but still waiting for mine to flower What type of bird is Robin Jennyhenny

bigmommasally
That's lovely bigmommasally- and neat too Thanks - but it photographs better than it looks in reality - you can't see the worn patches of grass; easibed, hemcore & hay scattered by chickens and bunnies across the whole garden; or the poop stained patio in the photos. abwsco
Our garden isn't very big and we haven't got fence panels to measure it by. This is it after just over a year of keeping chickens We did used to have that green stuff- grass I think you call it The little beggars have eaten my peonies tonight and also my big fern that had come up again

fluffyknickers
Your garden is lovely too sally - all the gardens on this thread are. I didnt get chance to measure up today as by the time got in from work, kids to bed, went for a run, tidied up it was pitch black! Its about 2-3 fence panels wide and not many more long I dont think - will see tomorrow! Will get some photos from the bedroom window too! Quick cluck and sally - we should organise an Essex meet (I am sure penguinmad will be up for it too). Michelle

lugreen
I have enjoyed reading this thread and it's so timely as I have been wondering (again!) if my garden is too small for chickens I think I may also win this one My L-shaped garden sits about 2.5ft-4ft lower than the back of the house and the short end of the L is now decked out - it's rather lovely really, we're raised up, in a sun trap and have a great view of all the gardens down the hill - maximum benefits without the mowing! The lowest part of the garden used to have a concrete shed on it (not mine, and used for all sorts of dubious purposes apparently!) which we demolished but have been left with the base, a very small border and a path. I have a raised bed at one end, trees in the border at the other and am hoping to put the eglu in between - total space 25ft x 10ft! Am I mad?!? Here is the veg patch (Indy painted it, and my "first" chook ) and here are the plans for the rest of the garden, for an eglu and converter added to the run.... The long brown rectangle is an old jetty post, which would weight down the run and be a great spot for the girls and us to perch Lu
katieadams
Would you be able to pull out the tray to clean it out without ruining your plants behind it? Great plan by the way!

lugreen
Would you be able to pull out the tray to clean it out without ruining your plants behind it? - uhuh.. just about! with my backside wedged between a silver birch and a broom! We have it chalked out on the concrete and there seems to be more wiggle room than the plan suggests.. and with luck the real girls arrive July time; I'm campaigning for a red eglu for my birthday at the end of June
