Kt Brown
Hi there, for those of you who have broody hens and don't want to take the chance of hatching cockerals, I have found a great alternative. I contacted a local breeder who uses an incubator and bought day olds! If you buy auto sexing then you know you have hens! I have succesfully put a single day old and the following spring 2 bantam day olds under my hen. She was so pleased with herself the following morning, obviously they need to sit on golf balls or rubber eggs for a few days to make sure they are truly broody. Kt Brown
2007 - Cream leg bar cross (took a chance on it being a hen, it had a nice face)! 2008 - Buff Brahma Bantams (managed to get a pair which was just plain good luck)! 2009 - Have enough hens so put 6 quail eggs in the incubator and now have a boy and 3 girls!!!
