Ain't Nobody Here
I'm using my Omlet run for 2 of my raised beds but would like to make some kind of netting support for the other two. Any suggestions or advice? The bought ones seem expensive and are never quite the right size . I've seen MDPE water pipe mentioned - anyone tried that? Redwing
The blue water pipe is good, Wickes sell it for about £25 but that gets you a lot. If you only want a little you can get grey pipes that are very flexible and about 2.5m long also from Wickes for about £3, I bought some and its very good and will blend in better than the blue stuff
Ain't Nobody Here
Thanks for that Tasha . Do you know if B&Q sell the grey stuff too? Wickes isn't quite so handy for me . In the meantime however, I "happened" to walk past a house that was having new windows/doors put in and spotted what looked like flexible white plastic thingies lying around so asked the nice chaps working there and I got given 2 of them . Nothing ventured .
Egluntyne
Plastic plumbers piping is often used for this, and is strong and flexible.
Tiggy
I tried this last year its better if you put some dowling at each end to stick into the ground so the hoops stay upright sorry about typing - have a gammy finger Edited May 18, 2009 by Guest
Lesley
Old hosepipe with dowelling in the ends works as well.
Snowy
I've been using an old hose pipe cut up and threaded onto short canes with old net curtains from freecycle over them.
Charlottechicken
I've been using white plastic coated wire garden edging pieces from Poundland. There are 8 pieces in a pack and they make great small cloche supports. I have them spaced a metre apart, they are perfect for seedlings, with plastic sheet thrown over the top
