selling eggs

Recommended Posts

Am liking this thread!!

With just the two girls we rarely got too much of a glut, but when we did we gave them to family. All my family insisted on donating £1 for each box of 4 towards the cost of the hens' food. I really thought that was sweet - they mostly bought their own food through their laying career!!

We don't like to eat our girls eggs (dunno why) so we give our eggs to the family for free

How funny, do you buy eggs then raina ?

lol,yep

We don't mind eating eggs from the shop, but just can't eat our girls eggs, I feel sick after eating them.

It's put me off eggs a bit.....but i still eat chicken :?

I couldnt eat mine at first but after a few months that wore off. i started off using them in cakes and then egg mayonnaise and now fried no problem. I dont sell them though I barter. i ask for treats for the hens and thats what we get.My girls are exbattery. I am quite happy with that as iI think my girls have earned their keep and just want them to enjoy their lives . they are priceless to me anyway for entertainment value and free fertiliser

We do a similar thing to aletroux - regards a box of mixed "flavours". OH thinks I'm "hen crazy".

I was stopped selling them at my place of work - wouldn't allow it due to not having been stamped etc. OH takes them to work and has no problem - £1.00 for six, "a nice round number".

The egg boxes came in thick and fast when we asked ppl to recycle theirs with us. We've been exchanging eggs for vegetable plants over the garden fence of late :D

We're saving our egg monies, as does Helly Welly, towards a new WIR.

Kind regards,

Pat & Steve
