Anyone elses chooks floating?

Recommended Posts

How are you all coping with this flipping rain? :?

My run was kept dry until the last few weeks. I've had Ikea shower curtains over it down to the ground on both sides, taken up when fine or one side up if raining from one direction.

Now it's really wet. I had woodchip to begin with, then hemcore, now woodchip and some hemcore and I only changed it all a couple of weeks ago so I'm not wanting to change it again, but yuk the poo can't dry out.

Here's hoping for a bit of drying wind and warm sun to sort it out.:pray::D

My WIR is ok except for a small bit in the front right corner where the rain falls off the shed and splashes up and back into the run.

The bark that is outside the run is a different matter - very squelchy!!!!! and pooey....the girls seem to hang out close to the run when it rains and this "concentrates" their lovely presents :vom:

I've got that clear plastic roofing from Wickes which is working a treat on the eglu run. But as they free range in the day, THEY look like drowned rats! And a Poland really does look bedraggled in the rain! But they are getting better at coming back to the run to shelter when it's really bad.

( I'm thinking of setting up a Poland hair -dressing salon when I retire ..... blow dries a speciality - fluffy bottom washing extra..)
