Chucky Mama
I may try Matalan next week. I almost bought a purple 1/2 sized trug in Homebase but couldn't find the price (that really annoys me but that's another story).
bluekarin
i bought this toast rack for LSH a few weeks ago http://www.lakeland.co.uk/toast-rack/F/keyword/toast+rack/product/11937 it's nice and plain and not too expensive either, I nearly bought one like that from Waitrose a few days ago, but it was £5! I shall be making my merry way down to Lakeland tomorrow then Thank you!
Chucky Mama
Look what I have just found! Woolies is back (well sort of) http://www.woolworths.co.uk
Seagazer
Not quite the same as popping up to your local high street and wandering around the store though is it? I was in my high street this morning, still nothing in our empty woolies shop and I noticed that our Thorntons card/chocolate shop has closed down. Have all the Thorntons gone or is it just a knock on from my dwindling high street?
Chucky Mama
No it's not the same I agree. There are so many things that I need that I could have got from Woolies like a Swingball and balloons. We have a Thorntons in downtown Swindon.
Seagazer
Perhaps its just us then. The high street has nearly 50% empty shops, its such a shame as without those shops people don't go up there and then the rest of the shops suffer. One of the old Woolies near me has been made into a 99p shop. I'd prefer something like a Wilkinson etc at least that should have some of the same type of things in it. Lesley
The Stratford Woolworths is now a Poundland......and the powers that be are up in arms because the signage is.........turquoise .......in Stratford Since when did an empty shopfront give a good impression to all the tourists???? We do still have Thorntons though.
Alis girls
Ours in Mill Hill is an Iceland and not all mums go there. I would've likeed a farm shop much more fitting for our high street. Not the same without Woolies - I was bereft when it closed - how sad am I?
