toonfamily
Thanks everyone. We went to the Farm and picked 3 gorgeous looking hens. A ginger ranger, A sweetie and a Snowbell. The names are not set yet. kids can't decide and it changes every hour, so we will be making the decision over breakfast. My youngest was obsessed with the egg collecting box and kept looking inside. I have tried to explain it could be weeks yet but he won't listen - to excited bless him. I sat and watched them for an hour and the time just flew. i was mesmerised. We have a Shihtzu/lhaso apso and he wouldn't leave them alone. they soon got over him and when the cat checked them out they didn't care either. We have been advised to leave them in the run for a week before letting them free range. And I can't wait. The thought of them roaming around the garden really pleases me. watching them exploring, I am really enjoying it so far. I know its only day 1. Will try and upload some pics

Sam Palmer
Congratulations. It looks lovely and your son looks so proud and pleased. Our Cube and 2 chickens are due to arrive in about a week and a half and we are counting down the days. The last 4 weeks since ordering have seemed like an eternity! Every day my youngest son (11), asks how much longer we've got to go - I tell him in weeks, then he works it out in days. Look forward to hearing how your girls settle in. ubereglu
Cute! Congratulations by the way, definitely keep them in the run for a week/5 days, as this is how they get used to going back to roost at night inside the eglu.

toonfamily
Thanks everyone. All is going well. we have had them taking corn out of our hands today, I have been cleaning them out everyday as someone has runny poo's. I have read the link on poo's and so I am not worrying at the moment. It's probably stress due to the move. Thank you Newmarcell, It was great meeting you and your OH on Saturday. And I am so glad you put the Eglu together. It took all the stress out of it. You was really informative and I will send you some pics once they have settled in a little more. The children are still deciding on names but tonight is the final night to decide. We are loving the chickens.. x
