geb0205
I posted up a while ago about one of my girls, Copper, who was ill. I took her to the vet, who gave her a couple of antibiotic jabs, and a course of tablets, and she was perking up very well indeed. She was much brighter, and back to her normal self. Sadly, over the past few days, she's taken a huge turn for the worse again. We are taking her back to the vets this afternoon, and she needs some good vibes o help her through it... Sadly, I feel this is the end for poor Copper. Is it silly to be so upset about a hen!? ETA: poor Copper is sadly no longer with us.
Budgies
So sorry to hear about Copper, Geb0205. You obviously did everything you could to help her, it was just her time. Nope, I don't think it's silly to get that attached to a hen! I've wept rivers for my two - I lost them 5 weeks ago now. I know it's a terrible cliche but it does get easier, and I remember them with a smile now, rather than more tears. I wish that for you too. Hugs coming your way ((()))

purplefowler
So sorry you lost her. It is not at all silly to be upset about losing a pet that becomes such a part of your life. I think that being ill makes them even more special as you spend extra time and care being with them, so the attachment is even stronger. It is natural and shows that you are a caring person.
