Photographic proof that the eglu run is foxproof...

...at least to this particular fox...and that hens can be braver than you think!

Our brave hen Maud looks as though she's staring the fox out, or threatening to peck his paw!

More photos in the gallery. Our next-door neighbour just lent me a memory-stick with these on. They were taken a while ago (sadly, Maud is no longer with us). I can't believe Maud and Gertie look so unperturbed! I'm glad the neighbour caught this scene -- I would have been far too busy hurling bad words (and possibly plant pots) at the fox to have taken photos!

Wow  . Did you know that had happened at the time  ? It looks like quite a small fox which is maybe why it didn't occur to it to dig :? .

yes agree this looks a very young fox! Amazing pics...indie

Wow, i would never have picked up a camera, even our neighbours come running if they spot a fox.

I did wonder what the neighbour would have done had the fox succeeded in getting in -- documented the demise of our hens, or raised the alarm?! But as it is, it's fascinating to see the fox in action, having so often found his pawprints on the eglu itself, and I'm very grateful to our neighbour for his photographic skills on this one! And even more for the fact that he has never once complained about the racket that our lot (now four) sometimes kick up!
