Anyone got a M-R Intellisteam/or recommend a food steamer?

Recommended Posts

My electric steamer really needs replacing (again) ... probably because I insist on washing the non-dishwasher safe baskets in the dishwasher! Well I am of the opinion that they will still last 3 or 4 years and rather that than waste my time hand scrubbing the bits out of the nooks and crannies

I would like to buy myself a decent one as I use it every day during Autumn / Winter /Spring and occasionally during the summer - so it really does get a lot of use. The Morphy Rochards Intellisteam is a third off at the moment so am considering that one. Anybody have one? Or able to highly recommend a good steamer?

Please don't tell me to get one for the hob ... I am used to my electric one and swear by it :D

Would you mind if I add the word "food" to the title? I clicked here yesterday expecting to read about clothing steamers, then wondered if it was a steam cleaner, then realised you meant cooking. Bit dim of me, I know.

Back today with my answer. I've found my Tefal Steam Cuisine (cheap in a sale 2 years ago) just brilliant. I know what you mean about the baskets. I've made a habit now of running a sink of hot, soapy water whilst cooking, & leaving the baskets in it whilst eating, then they just need a rinse, it's just getting into that routine.

Good luck! :D

I had a Morphy Richards electric one but it does need replacing ive only had it about a year but in the winter like you i do use it every day!!

My mum has bought me one to go on my gas hob and they do take longer to cook things than the electric one so i would stick with electric!!

I was just coming to post that very suggestion but i'll be quiet now! :silenced::lol:

Me too - we were given a stainless steel steamer for a wedding present nearly 23 years ago - it's used every day and still looks as good as new.

And me!

I had to google the model to check

We had a tefal one which broke and now just use a cheap one from Tesco and it does the job :)
