Please forgive me if this question has been posed before. My wife and I were impressed when we saw the Cube at GWL last week. Since then, we have been in a constant state of 'shall we - or shall we not'. We live in Malvern and we have 4 by 150ft Redwood trees at the bottom of our garden. The trees provide a home for a number of squirrels, wood pigeons, rooks, crows, blackbirds etc. We also see an occasional rat that takes great pleasure in climbing our birdfeeder. I confess that I have not seen any foxes. Would we asking for more problems if we introduced a cube with 4 hens into our garden? I have seen reference to this on this and other forums. I really do not want to fall out with our neighbours. The cube would not be in a WIR - at least, in the near term. Grateful for any thoughts and advice. We owe it to Omlet and ourselves to reach a final decision. Many thanks.

The rat might be attracted to the hens' food, so it would be a good idea to bring it in at night (the food I mean)......but I doubt that the hens would make any more noise than the creatures you already have living there, so the neighbours shouldn't have real cause for complaint. You can always bribe them with eggs.

Go for it.......and welcome to the forum. :D

Thanks for all the advice. We have ordered a Cube; however, we are now wondering the ground is too uneven for the 1M extension that we have ordered to go with it. Would 3 hens be Ok in a 2M run in the short-term? Our garden is too open to let them roam at will.
