I really wanted to watch it but I had to get the kids when they were playing the third set and it was one set each. I think Serena is an excellent player, but I was really hoping she'd get beaten by the other girl as she was very good too, and its nice to have some different names in the finals. But the Russian had the most appalling grunt. What on earth was she saying? Looking forward to tomorrows semi finals. Fingers are crossed for Andy

From watching the morning news I could see that the roof was over. Will make for interesting play later if it's still closed.

Really looking foreward to this afternoon, both matches have the potential to be excellent. I saw Tommy Haas in his long 5 set match and then he beat Djokovic so he is on form, it will be interesting to see if he can make it a match with Federer.

 

I would love Murray to beat Roddick but I don't think it will be easy. He will have to be serving at his best because it could well be a series of tie breakers.

 

Ironing board at the ready, but before then a whole house to clean in 1 hour, byeee

Sad about Andy, but it was a great match that I really didn't want to end

Serena won the ladies final and Venus and Serena won the ladies doubles match too.

 

To be honest I'm not surprised that Andy lost against Roddick because he is on such good form the moment and was playing to his weaker areas-eg the forehand and his serves were amazing. Have to say that I'd really like Federer to win the final though...

I just hope for a really good game and an exciting one. It's always sad when it end up being one sided. We shall await the result

Ahh what a shame I really wanted Roddick to win I think the crowd did too.

 

Fed up with Federer winning all the time.

 

Why oh why does the BBC insist showing us random shots of crowd members after every point won?!

It was a really good game but i agree Chelsea - such a shame federer won. I find him to be very arrogant and full of himself - a trait i dont admire!

I thought they both played brilliantly and it was nip and tuck to the last minute.

 

It would have been lovely for Andy Roddick to have had his turn, but it wasn't to be.

 

I quite like Federer and have always thought him a gent.

Federer would`nt have won if Nadal had been there.

Lets hope he is back in action very soon, he has been missed.

I'm really pleased for Federer and in the end he won because he had the stamina to last the game, whereas Roddick didn't. However I do feel a bit sorry for his wife Mirka, that was not a good match to put a heavily pregnant lady through-bless her.

 

He now is deservedly the best player of all time in terms of grand slam wins and I'd like to see just how much more he can do, as this time last year critics were almost completely writing him off-how wrong could they have been.

 

Yes, it was sad that Rafael Nadal couldn't be playing, but again, 'injuries are part of the game', and so that was just the way it was and it is a skill just to keep on getting to all of these finals, let alone winning them.
