Chook n Boo Mum
Maybe it's because Mostin only has one boy & you and Jules both have several all vying to be top boy....? Just a thought...I've just been watching 2 of my babies bouncing off one another's chests, the other one wanders off.......I am hoping & I don't have 2 boys and one girl... tidygirlsuk
Will you be keeping Basil ? You can save the name 'Violet' for the next hatch
mostin
Sorry Laurie . If it's any help, the babies I am looking after are crowing and knocking 7 bells out of each other, so I'm sure it just happens when you have more than one in an area. Bill treaded one of the girls for the 1st time today . He didn't even crow about that though, he just strutted about a bit and then went and ate some pellets , typical bloke . Maybe he's just the strong silent type
Plum
Did he have a smoke afterwards. Poor Laurie, at least you'll have room for some more chicks.
laurmurf
Bill's quite the suave lothario isn't he? Imagine being tread by that though - the human equivalent being Pavorotti jumping on your back, perhaps? Mind you, Bill don't sing about it does he.... Oh mostin, it's just not fair! Basil is probably smaller than Bill's wattles! Maybe he's got 'small man' syndrome?

Basil is probably smaller than Bill's wattles! Maybe he's got 'small man' syndrome? Awwwwwwwwwww bless. Sweet Basil . I know what you mean though, the two baby cockerels i am looking after spend the morning having a tiny weedy crowing competition, and then the the rest of the day bouncing off each others chests . They don't hurt each other, and the four girls they are in with completely ignore them . i was worried they were going to set Bill off crowing, but he just glances at them *raises an imaginary eyebrow* and goes back to his business It's so funny how Bill has chosen Elliot to be his first "special lady". She is the only one he has been even slightly nasty to. Always bossing her about and shoving her away from the feeders. I told Shaun it was school playground tactics and that she was his favourite really, and I was right .
laurmurf
boys don't change, do they? If she had plaits he'd be pulling them... but the big question is now, mostin, what'ya gonna do with those fertile eggs....hmmmm?

Griffin
The way I 'persuade' the man in my life is to remind him of the fact I can't possibly keep them all, he can eat the boys and we can sell a few girls. He sees pound signs and agrees to anything

the Lurker
but we have to keep all our babies! except maybe Dougal because he's a bit mean. Basil is my little baby, he sits on my knee and chats to me and lets me give him cuddles without very much fuss at all! i'm he stays that way and that we can do something about that back corner of the field behind us (that i'm sure my dear mother has mentioned by now) so he can stay .... and lets just hope the neighbors find his little shouting fits as endearing and melodious as we do at 6 in the morning

mostin
You are a cruel woman Laurie Basil is certainly worming his way into your hearts isn't he? He is such a cutie though, and always pleased to see you, I can't blame any of you for falling for him, Even Shaun classed him as "Pretty cute, for a fluff ball", so he that shows he's adorable .
