tom123
All of those that are in the picture are girls at 18 weeks old, cant see any sussex properly so can't tell, could you post some other pics? Thanks Tom
Plum
I can only see the reds and a sussex's tail have you got some more pictures. I would say your reds are girls.
*mummy_hen*
The two reds look like girls to me. I must say...your garden looks lovely
chelsea
Can't tell with the pic of the light sussex I'm afraid.... The RIR's look female to me. Cockerel's combs tend to go all the way back on the head rather than halfway, the hackle feathers tend to be pointy rather than rounded, and you have curling tail feathers. Sometimes you can "just tell" as you can really see the butchness, for example some cockerels have huge legs and a "strut". Mind you I did have a female who I was convinced was a male right up until she was POL. Apparently a way to tell is by holding a piece of card under the hackle feathers and if the feathers are pointed it's a cockerel.....I read that somewhere! Redwing
If the two Sussex are the same age then the one on the left is a boy I believe
Plum
No that's fine I was in the middle of deleting the picture and you confused me . Girl on left and boy on right who has forgotten to grow his headgear

chelsea
Both sussex look male to me... The tail on the one with the reddest comb looks very flamboyant, and the paler comb one (nearest the camera) looks scarily male!
Redwing
Goodness Plum! I don't! dont put the poor thing in the oven on my say so See what the others have to say first
Space Chick
I think both sussex could be male too. The one who has forgotten to grow his headgear is adorable (and just a little scary!)
tom123
Here is a 17 week old Sussex cockerel... mmm... don't know. I agree about the tails etc but the headgear and hackles are quite girly Tom
