wasp invasion! and how do I get them to usethe nesting box?

Recommended Posts

I bought a lovely sticky seed ring from flyte so fancy, girls love it but so do the wasps! lots of them!! Girls don't mind the wasps and are happy to share but my 5 year old is terrified to go near the chickens now! lol

Any tips on getting rid of them or am I just going to get rid of the treat?

Also...

All 3 girls are now only using the nesting box to sleep and poop in!!

They're all laying in the corner of the coop now and not where they're supposed to lol

One started laying here and now they've all copied her! naughty wendy/..

Thanks :)

I recently bought one of these red top fly catchers. They also sell a "waspinator" - might be worth a bash! Here's the link :-

BTW - is that treat sticky with honey? There's been some chat on the forum recently about exposing imported honey to local bees and the risk of infection etc.

With rgds the girls not using their nestbox, have you tried leaving a golf ball or wooden egg in the nest to encourage them?

Good luck!

Kind rgds, Pat & Steve

It's been up 2 weeks now and the chickens love a quick peck on it, seems to last forever!
