Suzy
Hi, I know that ex batts are 18 months old when they are retired but am really curious to know how long an ex-batt has lived with an omleteer after getting out of the cage. I know they can fade very soon after retiring, but I'd love to know how old the oldest one is! I can start the ball rolling with each of my little ladies currently being 27 months in total (9 free) Suzy
beulah59
I'm picking up some ex-bats at the end of the month .. quite nervous about how long they'll be with us, I hope it's not going to be too sad ...
Lydia
Hatpin is 45 months (or 3 3/4 years old). She's been with us for 2 years, 3 months). She's my eldest and still going strong, although definitely slowing down now. Other oldies - Bartel managed 42 months and 6 days before succumbing in early June and Volty was 2 days short of 40 months old before peritonitis took her at the end of June. Sarahsausage
Aah Beulah, don't worry about how long you'll have your girls, it's rewarding enough knowing you're giving them a wonderful, free and happy retirement! I've only had mine a year so far but hoping they will go on for quite a while! (I am dreading the day I lose any of them though to be honest as I love them to pieces)
