Hens@HalfMoonLane
I'm having eye surgery on Tuesday to correct a corneal erosion I've had since cutting my eye on a shrub whilst gardening back in 2006. I have to lie on my back not moving for 2 days in the dark to allow my eye to heal. I can't decide whetherI'll be bored stiff or will appreciate the rest, peace and quiet having not had a sleep in for the past 3.5 years. What do you think and any ideas to pass the time? I'll obviously have my very lovey dog Bud lying on the bed with me which will help loads.

Ain't Nobody Here
I would get lots of podcasts and talking books loaded up . Will you be able to see at all or will you be bandaged up?
Chickvic
I don't have any suggestions but I think I'd be climbing the walls. 2 days in bed is ok but in the dark I wouldn't be able to read and go stir crazy!
WarrensWorld
I would get lots of podcasts and talking books loaded up . Will you be able to see at all or will you be bandaged up? Exactly go with the talking book and radio 4.
mostin
Ooooooooo yes, loads of talking books on your ipod, absolute bliss, I could stay there for a week
Helly Welly
I have to say, one day would be fine but two would drive me mad. If you aren't bandaged then bandage yourself so you are not tempted to peek. I can't suggest anything apart from what others have already suggested, lots of music and talking books. If all else fails, take some sleeping tablets and sleep for the whole tow days (joking of course)

Mutrix Farmers
I would be able to cope with 2 days in bed being waited on hand and foot. You can listen to music, the radio, audio books, ask someone to read to you, and catch up on some much needed sleep. Hope the surgery is successful. Hens@HalfMoonLane
Well I managed it. Quite enjoyed it, I cheated a bit and had lunch when my mum came round, had a few nods as it was quite painful the first night and I didn't get much sleep. Managed to see the chucks a few times. Listened to Ben Fodle and James Cracknell rowing across the Atlantic. I love Ben Fogle, he'd be my ideal dinner party guest. Listened to loads of music and best of all a brilliant excuse to keep out of the way of my mother in law who comes through on a Thursday. I go back to the hospital tomorrow to see whether it has worked and have this annoying contact lense removed. Unfortunately I will have to work all weekend now to catch up on my work! Chook n Boo Mum
Unfortunately I will have to work all weekend now to catch up on my work! Don't over do it then, I'd have thought that your eyes would get tired quickly after surgery, check with the doc at your checkup, he may suggest a bit more R&R, the work will still be there next week & your eyes are so important....................
