Omlet cube and run

My YS spotted it and called us to come see, none of us had ever seen one before It's a little smaller than a quail (it was foraging around their run). Apparently they are usually found in North America and are not listed on the RSPB site !

I've done a bit more searching and seems it is thought some have got to UK by ship. Previous recorded sightings are Shetlands and one in Norfolk. I'm trying to find out how we record our sighting as we're a long way from Norfolk ! and even further from the Shetlands

 

I knew it was unusual when my YS called me as with the bird feeders just outside my office window I've got mch better on identifying birds but didn't realise how unusual it was to see one in England until I kept searching

Home office so I'd set up the bird feeder with lots of different feeders directly outside my office window I work full time for large corporation but full time tele-commuter. Some people I work with don't even know what country I am in let alone I'm not in a 'proper' office
