Has anyone else been watching Trust Me I'm a Dealer with Paul Martin, lovely man but has anyone else noticed that his chickens look like they have scaly mite?

only watched it once so never saw any chickens. If i watch it again i'll look for the chucks

Quite often there are shots of Paul feeding or letting his chooks out, I'm sure they have scaly mite!?

Haven't ever seen it so tried to watch it on BBC iplayer but for some reason it wouldn't play.

Tried googling photo's of his chickens but still no luck!!

It could be that he has treated them and the scales haven't moulted off yet.

My feathery legged girls all got it this year. I took them to the vets and they were treated. However, their legs are only just starting to improve now that they moulting.

I watched that one with husband who said "his chickens have scaly leg"! All my ramblings about chickens has obviously sunk in along the line even though he doesn't appear to be listening most of the time.....to anything......!!!

Not seen it, but last time I went to the Domestic Fowl Trust, most of the birds there looked to have been infected at some time, some of them quite badly.

 

It's important to treat it promptly or you run the risk of them going lame. a couple of mine have been treated and their legs are only just starting to look better now.

I said that to Eileen, those chooks have scaly leg. After last nights show, now I'm sure they have........ Poor Chooks.

Bless them! I might write to him! A nice letter of course, they may have been treated as mentioned above but I'll only be worrying about them if I don't........

went to watch them filming the tv programme Flog It last Sunday that Paul Martin hosts, as he walked past me i was quite tempted to ask him if his chucks were okay , in a nice way as he may just be waiting for the treatment to work or he may have just rescued the hens.

My new buff rock bantams have a tiny bit of scaly leg, the one is worse than the other, so I've been treating them, although I think they have been treated before and are 'recovering' now

Just got to wait for the leg scales to moult off then Lewis.

 

A couple of mine have had it in the past and seem prone to getting scaley leg mites ever since, so I keep up the preventative treatment and spraying their legs. They are all moulting at the moment, so their legs are looking better now.
