I don't understand it either. I bet you they undervalue it and then sell it on at a higher price. If it were me I'd get an independent valuation on it beforehand.

No the creepiest is the Civic Bang man who shouts at housewives as if we're all deaf or dumb We saw the Spanish version on holiday and he was so quietly spoken it was positively soothing. ES cracked up when he saw me mesmorised by it each time it came on

The one I've posted about gives a better price than most local jewellers will and no I don't work for them just know lots of people who have used them in some cases getting double what the local places have offered.

Actually, you'd be surprised how many people have broken jewellery - chains that have snapped, brooches or rings with stones missing that they never wear - might as well cash in on it (and add it to your list of 100 things that you've got rid of!).

 

I don't really do jewellery, but I have a gold chain and a 9ct ring that I never wear and can't imagine I ever will (they were both presents from my ex, and were his taste rather than mine) so I've thought about doing this.

 

Hmm, I wonder if I could raise enough for a walk-in run!

....but if there is value in gold then surely jewellers will pay? I'd rather take mine to a local jeweller.

After seeing the news this morning I would be very dubious of the postal system and envelopes addressed to send your gold to us companies. They are sorting post in the street because of the strikes! Not only that, Friday we were given the post for the whole cul-de-sac and a little along the street - OH pounced on the postie yesterday and gave them to her and she said "wasn't me" - what a surprise! Now if they all do that and things go missing . . .
