Recommended Posts

I had one of these pitch up in my inbox this morning saying

We are pleased to inform you of 5th-September-2009 UK National Lotto draw. Your email address was picked.

Do contact our claims agent via e-mail as given below providing your full name(s) & reference # (same as above) for due processing and remittance of your prize money.

"signed" from a Dr and a Prof no less.................am I right to be suspicious or is this for real

It's a bit like the e-mails you get purporting to be from HMRC and telling you that you are due a refund....the first question you have to ask yourself is ...at what point did I give them my e-mail address?....if the answer to that is never (and that is the correct answer in the case of the Revenue folks...they don't do e-mail) then it's most definitely a scam

Coo & there was I thinking I may have had a little windfall  .........and was planning how many pekins & could buy with it :liar::lol: No such luck!

Thanks Fred for that link, I was surprised that it had arrived in my inbox, normally such toot lands in the junk tray along with the "you are a long lost relative" and "get rich quick in this casino" emails...It's now marked as junk so hopefully won't appear again
