Can you sift the aubiose so the poo gets seperated from the aubiose?

 

I remember years ago my grandad having a garden sieve thing - like a ring with wire in it he used for sifting stones from soil.

 

Anyone do this?

Yes I do from time to time, its not practical for a big run though!

Big garden seive £6 ish from a DIY store

 

I once put a sheet of weldmesh over a wheel barrow and shovelled on Aubiose but that was too much like hard work!

I do too....on occasions. I have a garden sieve that came free with my composter

 

I also have a large cat litter scoop (in matching green ) that I sit in the WIR with, along with a trug and sift as I chat to the girls.

 

They look at me as if to say "why is the hooooman collecting our poo!? She must like it, we will do lots more! "

I use an old pair of BBQ tongs to pick up the poo and rake the run, as the tongs run along it they hoe the auboise and the large clumps are easy to see i an now an expert at it now

I have the £3.46 one i think - the really cheap one says potting sieve with 6mm holes so may be too small

I have a plastic rake type thingy that I 'aereate' it with occasionally.

My grils kick it all up to the other end of the run, so I sometimes rake it back down to the front again, but life's to short to sieve it. As soon as it looks manky, I haul it out onto the compost heap and put more in.
