Ain't Nobody Here Posted September 15, 2009 Share Posted September 15, 2009 We had a new learning assistant start work at our special school yesterday. By the end of the day, she looked a bit shellshocked . Breaktime - bit of a fight broke out and one of our 14 year old boys stripped off (his coping mechanism in a crisis) and ran round the playground dressed only in white socks. Before lunch - another boy (about 11 yrs old, notorious badly behaved) wrenched a bannister rail off the wall and ran round the school whacking anything he could with it. He'd already threatened the asst head earlier with a pair of scissors. During lunch - same boy, incited to start a fight with another lad, did so. Cue sirens wailing and two burly policemen on the scene. Ho hum, another day, another dollar . The learning assistant came back today (probably to see if it's like that every day ). It isn't . I think you get pretty blase about these types of things when you've been in a school like that for a while.
