4m x 3m Omlet pen, cube, new auto door still boxed and coop light

Hiya - my sister & myself have decided to make each other a hamper for Christmas. Now we both know that flavoured vodkas & schnapp type drinkies would go down well on each side.

So what recipes do you all have?

I know about toffee vodka

Spiced cranberry vodka

I've already got some very potent Limoncello.

 

I think my sister & my brother in law are making damson & sloe gin, plus whatever else they might get inspiration for. I overheard Baileys being mentioned.

in fact, I would just pick a fruit, and make some vodka with it

 

you could either add sugar to make a liquer type or just add the fruit for a flavoured vodka

 

in fact, im seriously considering apple or honeydew melon at the moment (cos I have apples and a honeydew melon that need eating

We made raspberry lasy year with sugar...it was quite nice but a bit sickly. This year we have gone for sloe gin and crab apple brandy instead

I've just found you can make drinkies from the following!

try parma violets, Skittles ,pear drops, sherbert lemons, Tobelerone, Mint aero, After eights, Smarties, Mars bar, Cola bottles, black jacks .. fruit salad. All yummy apparently!

Especially if you only put the red and purple ones in, leave it for a while, and then drink

Blackberry vodka? Have made a few litres this year so hope people like it.

Just out of interest. Has anyone found any bargain vodka or gin. Aldi's is around the £8 mark. Wondered if anyone had spotted any alcoholic bargains??

So, if I buy some cheap vodka, and put in some raspberries (just cos I like raspberries!!). How many raspberries should I add?? How do I know if I need to add sugar... Just by taste? And how long do I need to leave it...

 

And do you leave the fruit in when giving as a pressie??

 

So many questions... Sorry! But seems a great gift idea for Christmas - Am fed up with trawling the shops looking at the same old things... Want to try and give something a bit different this year, and there are some great ideas on this site!

right, I usually use a kilner jar (the larger one) fill it about 1/3 up the jar

if you want a sweet schnaps type drink then add sugar (about a cup I think) if you want a flavoured vodka, just add the fruit

 

i usually strain the fruit out using a jam/jelly bag and put the vodka into a nice bottle (or just any old bottle)

I did the toffee vodka....................& it was a complete & utter disaster - tasted vile

 

I am sticking to my tried 7 trusted Spiced Cranberry Vodka, which I make every year,is totally yummy & people sulk if I forget to give them a bottle

 

I always use the cheap Tesco Value stuff - £7.50 a bottle I think.

I do get some looks when I am buying 4 bottles of that & 2 of the Gin for Sloe Gin
