Chickendoodle
I love Waking the Dead on the BBC but why oh why do they have to preview the second episode straight after the first and give away most of the plot Unless I missed it last night there was no hint that organ sales were involved but they told us in the preview of tonight's episode. It makes me so mad - I also find it happens a lot on book covers where you have to get over half way though the book before you reach the plot line they have already told you about. Rant over - maybe I am just getting old and grumpy. Edited September 21, 2009 by Guest
Ain't Nobody Here
Thanks for that . I've only just watched last weeks . (Which was very gripping .) Only joking, you weren't to know .
Chickendoodle
Oops - sorry ANH - have now added Spoiler Alert to the topic to save anyone else getting caught. Just forget that you read it! Hopefully it won't spoil your enjoyment
Chucky Mama
Yes, it really annoyed me, it came as a complete suprise as there was no hint at all. Looks very exciting but I would rather it unfolded in the next episode.
Falkor
We said exactly that last night!!! Seems little point watching it tonight! .......but we will
Chickendoodle
I felt so strongly that I have emailed a complaint to the BBC. Don't understand why they do it!
Old Speckled Hen
I usually watch it on catch-up and turn off before the following week's preview. I did watch it on the tele last night and it IS very annoying. I'll still watch tonight through my fingers I suspect. It's a great series but I found the last two episoder VERY disturbing. Yes....and what about Boyds punishment or slap on the wrist AT LEAST for the breaking and entering that he did.....they have seemed to have forgotten that
missuscluck
Agreed! It gave away the whole thing. Like a quick fire version of the whole programme. Rubbish of the BBC

sadietoo
Am I alone in finding tonight's episode deeply deeply unsatisfying? It was just wrong on so many levels.... Firstly we all looked at each other and wondered how the farm clue had been picked up we don't remember mention of the farm before. But perhaps we are just thick because we also missed the bit in the trailer of the girl being drowned....(no not on the ferry)...when did they slip that in to episode one ??(or, as is likely, was it so boring I fell asleep momentarily and missed a bit?) Then there was the guy with the gun that went scott free...TWICE But then the "team" solved every single clue just like that.... it seems like on the one hand you are expected to swallow the reality of the fact that the bad guys get away with it some of the time, and yet on the other the police are absolutely fantastic (albeit Boyd is apparently working entirely on his own without the support of Inspector Knacker at any stage???) and fortunately solving all clues just in the nick of time... Mmmm...and someone got paid for that script......
Chucky Mama
I agree, not a great episode. They seemed to have put more effort into the shocking scene than the plot.
Old Speckled Hen
Full of inconsistencies! I was going to post, "That's the end of Boyd, then." last night. I wish the writers weren't given such free rein to annihilate what was once a great programme. It seems almost that they try to out do each other with the graphic stuff at the cost of the plot. Chucky Mama
It is such a shame. They don't need all of that graphic stuff, Boyd and a decent plot is enough.
Seagazer
We have only watched a couple of episodes of this series and thought that last Sunday/Monday's episodes were brilliant so sat down full of expectation this week. Well I was almost falling asleep and then when they showed the clips from Monday's night it really spoilt it for us too. My hubby said there was no point in watching. Then how could they let the chap with the gun go and when the gun went off at the end, how come they didn't turn the car around and race back, as surely if they are police officers then thats their job? I don't understand it. So full of inconsistencies that its stupid. Not sure whether I'll bother to watch next week now. Especially as Charlie Boorman (sp?) and Doc Martin are on at the same time
Chickendoodle
I agree - such a shame. It was a really good idea for a plot but it got so complicated - I think someone was trying to be too clever. Couldn't understand why the surgeon stole Eve's pass months before because if he hadn't slept with her there would have been no DNA to match! And what good was her pass to him anyway? The first few series were brilliant I thought, when the Claire Goose character was in it. I stopped watching in the middle of the last series as the plots got a bit silly but I had high hopes for this series. I really hope it gets back on track as the acting is brilliant. jenuk99
Hi Ok bits that were easy to miss The girl who drowned in the vat happened at the very beginning of the first one and was flashing between her and the ferry disaster. The pass was picked up by chance and kept because he wanted her to investigate him. Boyd didn't arrest the man with the gun because Eve had collected the skim sample illegally so none of it would hold up in court and he left them at the end because he knew they would shoot the surgeon and that got rid of him. And not sure about his naughty ways but think that is building towards the other guy (cant remember his name) leaving the department.
