Snowy
I went to a Quilt Show today. Not a patch on the NEC fairs or exhibitions, but wonderful all the same! It was at Wing, in Rutland. There were some stunning quilts on display in the church, and in the village hall several stalls selling fabric and embellishments etc. There was a stall there doing the injabulo fairtrade buttons, quilts for sale and there were loads of fabric bargains. I bought 18 fat quarters of lovely, american country prints for £12! Bargain! My step mum came with me and we've just had a lovely day - my senses are overloaded with colours and patterns and designs! Wonderful! It's on again tomorrow if you are in the area, really worth a visit!
bigmommasally
That sounds like a lovely day out Snowy I wish I lived a bit closer to Rutland, just googled it and its over 2 hours away its just a tad too far, though the pull of bargain fat quarters it pretty strong

Ygerna
Fab bargain with the FQ's! Sounds like a great day. Shame I am so far away. Oh well.
bigmommasally
I went to a local Quilt Show yesterday (found it advertised in the back of Popular Patchwork) it was only very small but the quilts were lovely. A couple were easily as good as those on display at NEC. And it was also lovely to see some displayed that weren't quite perfect - made me feel tons better about my efforts. Only 1 trader there and absolutely no bargains - in fact I felt they were a bit pricey I did win half a metre of fabric in the tombola though Ygerna - there are some events listed in the back of Popular Patchwork for Surrey - might be worth a look to see if any are closer to you
Mrs Frugal
Oh flump! I wish I'd known about that, Snowy. It's only up the road from me and sounds like a fab day!
Plum
I'm so jealous I was back at work yesterday after being off for a fortnight. A quilt show would have been so much better. I really like the little local ones as well.
