quickcluck
Hi guys, just thought i'd share! I've been mostly using 2 hanging feeders with a grub added in occasionally. We appeared to be getting through sooooooooo much food, it was beginning to be a worry plus there seemed to be alot on the floor So have now gone for a hanging one, but it has little partitions where they peck from, and hey presto the food intake has over halved and none on the floor We are amazed at how much wastage there was. Now about 3kg of food its lasting 7 girls 3 days, we were getting through almost 2.5kg a day!
Falkor
Yup! I changed the bantams over from grubs to a hanging feeder with a grid and have found the same! No more pellet flinging at Chez Palmer07 thankyou very much!

Space Chick
I noticed the same when I changed over to a treadle feeder, although they still spill some

Gelbel
Word of warning - go careful with this one. I have this version but had to change it as over a couple of days the girls turn and turn and turn it until the screw works its way right up and the feeder falls off the central spindle thingy. I now use as my reserve (ie 3rd back up if they become extra greedy when we are away). I use the red and white ones you can get with a built in handle and lid that goes over. Here it is. Jennifer Jane
Oddly enough my girls didn't want to eat from the feeder with the grid, but would fight over the two feeders without. So we added in a third feeder minus grid and peace reigns. There is always food all over the ground though - and ground all over the food as well - we will have to try hanging ours up to see if that makes a difference. quickcluck
Ha! They happened to us but we've got it sorted now!
batcatz
Yeah, I agree. They are great feeders. I have one inside the house and feed seems to last for ages! Only just noticed that Dotty eats out of the top of it, but it saves me cleaning out hte sawdust from the bottom. haha Amanda

quickcluck
We have just changed the flooring in the WIR, I honestly think that over the months there was almost a sack of pellets on the floor

Ours did this and we have now lost the the nut thing of the top and need to find a replacement. Are you hanging these off the roof of the eglu cube run? I worried about the weight.
