They'll be a flock again..

Recommended Posts

Took the plunge again tonight and let them out divided by net again but me at the ready in case of trouble.

I tried your trick of putting treats on both sides (growers pellets  they are easily pleased). They all ate together from one of my hands.:dance:

Later I put Grackle in with them with me sat there as well. There was a bit of posing at eachother and Grackle lunged once or twice but I was pleased how it went. Just going to keep at it slowly and not rush them.

And Motmot had a little snooze on my lap again - dozy chicken

Oh thanks, did you ever catch your second cockeral?

No... he is going to be the one that got away at the moment. We are encouraging him into the house for treats so that if we do have to take him to the Camel Park it will be easy to get him. So far so good though he is doing as he is told by Sir Minky. We took some pics of the some of them after they had gone to roost, but the OH still has them in his mobile. When he has time he will put them on...... I hate this not being able to do it all myself, it is so not me. I am getting a digital camera for christmas, then there will be no stopping me.

Love to you and lots of chocholate :lol:

Just thought I'd post a picture of the new girls in the sun yesterday, cos I can't help myself.

I have moved them into the cube run tonight. I divided it by using the roof of their little run and some trellis and quite a few canes, softies and cableties.

I also moved their little house in. Can't wait to see the reactions in the morning. Pigeon will be really indignant. I have put their food and drink on the same wall so hopefully they will just have to get used to eachother. I also broke the girls perch by sitting on it. OK no jokes about big bird.

I went to Chatsworth last week to see the sculptures but was more interested in the chickens and trees. Thought Angel of the North would look good in their part of the garden or how about this tree. I would have loved to dig it up for their run.

Can you imagine a different breed and colour on each branch. 8):lol:

Well tonight while I was adjusting the divide and make a door under the cube the biggies were in the top of the garden and I let the littleies out in the chicken garden and the daft birds went straight into their old run. Daft pair all that garden to play in. I didn't notice but Grackle had come back down somehow and was in there with them. Bit of noise but no pecking

Decided to bit the bullet and show you my carpentry skills :anxious: . Their diddy run without coop and roof.

Here's the roof now dividing the cube run.

Bit of a mess but they are secure and they can't get through :D

 No problem when the blisters have healed.

It was only when I had a look at the cube run photo I realised the grub was on the ground so at crack of dawn had to crawl in (in my uniform :anxious: ) to hang it up :lol:

luckily the girls hadn't pood, curry or otherwise yet.
