dippy bird Posted October 11, 2009 Author Share Posted October 11, 2009 Well, we have had to turf them out of the coop this morning - we have got 3 huge eggs off them. On closer inspection, poor Mavis has got quite a bald bum - looks quite red. They have had a little bit to eat, but have all gone back into the coop again.Also, Elsie seems to be the bossy one and is really pecking at the others , so I have sprayed all of them with anti peck spray . so now they all smell even worse than before We are going to cover the run with tarpaulin today and put up a wind break to protect them a bit more. My other girls all seem quite indignant that I am spending so much time looking at the new girls and are making their feelings heard!! It breaks my heart to see these girls just standing around not knowing what to do, not realising that if they scratch at the earth that they could have a lovely juicy worm. dippy bird Posted October 12, 2009 Author Share Posted October 12, 2009 It's looking like Elsie is a real bully, clearly the ant-peck spray isn't working.Any ideas what I can do? Is it worth a go putting her in with originals to see if it stops her as they won't take any messing? I know they need to establish the pecking order, but this is pure bullying and poor little Mavis seems be at the brunt of it all.
