Lavenders_Blue
I collected my 4 ex-batts today from the lovely people at Little Hen Rescue. They are simply beautiful. I am completely smitten. They are very well feathered for ex-batts, just the odd tiny bald patch here and there but generally a good thick plumage. They were very nervous when we got them home and stayed all huddled together up at one end of the run. However after a couple of hours they got brave and decided to explore the rest of the run and were soon singing away at the tops of their voices to announce their arrival to the neighbourhood!! When it became pitch black they continued to do singing and refused to go to bed so muggins here had to try and catch them and put them in their house. This resulted in 2 escapees being chased round the garden by yours truly. I think they are going to be quite feisty and extremely entertaining!!! Should I ever work out how to, I will do my best to post some piccies.

Lavenders_Blue
Well this morning I got up early to let them out of their house and all their new found bravery of last night had gone. In total it took the 4 girls about two hours to come out of their house, and the last needed a little gentle 'persuasion'. But they have been happily scratching and pecking away all day, generally throwing their mash all over the place! The run is like a bomb site. However they have laid 3 beautiful eggs so they are forgiven
