sparkysmum
OK it's not the most glamorous topic (and it's not for plucking chickens) but can anyone recommend a ladyshaver. My ancient old Phillips has bit the dust and I have to replace it but don't know what to buy I'm not a shopper so whatever you suggest I'll probably buy. Thanks as always. bluekarin
I have a bog standard Phillips ladyshave for when I can't be bothered/forgot to epilate the night before. Similar to this one http://www.boots.com/en/Philips-Ladyshave_36920/ It seems to work okay. Not a close shave like a wet razor would be though. iar fach goch
Aha! I was about to post a similar post last night, having spent ages de fuzzing and cursing whoever it was who decided that female bodily hair was a no-no! I have bought a Philips satinelle which is an epilator and shaver in one, so that when I can't be bothered with epilating I can quickly use the shaver. whoopsie
I gave up with the waxing and bought an ordinary razor again!
Cinnamon
I don't shave at all any more, after using the Boots permenant hair removal system, The Smooth Skin
BarbaraJ
I don't shave at all any more, after using the Boots permenant hair removal system, The Smooth Skin i have done waxing, epilating, wet shaving. Epilating is best but takes the longest. I'd love a cream to work but i seriously doubt it would as tried many creams and they don't cut it with my thick hair
bluekarin
I don't shave at all any more, after using the Boots permenant hair removal system, The Smooth Skin Is that the electrolysis one? I've been thinking about them as my legs get very sore from wet shaving, dry shaver doesn't make them smooth enough and eplilator is just plain ouch How long did it take to do a half leg? And does it last?
Cinnamon
Well, I am quite fair & have some very fair hair on my legs which is still there, but all the dark hair has gone from my legs & everywhere else. It takes about a half hour to do a half leg, which you need to then do once a week for about 8 weeks ,then you start to see the hairs dropping out You can now use the system on your face too. Janty
I like my epilator...it's the one with the ice pack that's supposed to dumb the pain but I don't use the ice bit. It's not so bad after the initial shock.

It's not so bad after the initial shock. Its always confused me why they put an ice pack on an epliator as surely when you make things cold, i.e your skin, it makes the hair follicles close and then its more painful to pluck out the hairs When I pluck my eyebrows, for example, its much easier to do it after a shower/bath and the pores are open. iar fach goch
Mine has an ice pack too, and I must admit it did ease the pain when I began using it, but now I'm used to it I don't bother anymore!
Leicester_H
Hi I recently bought a Braun from here http://www.shavers.co.uk/ (£30 instead of £40 from Boots). Very speedy service, nothing extra for postage. H

Happy-Mama
what a great site for shavers. I gave up on electric shavers a long time ago as none seemed to do the job (only use a wet razer now) but having looked at the site am very tempted by the Braun LS5560 Silk & Soft Ladyshave or the Philips Philishave HP6328/03 Softselect Ladyshave am leaning towards the Braun at the moment. Has anyone used and liked either of these?
Leicester_H
the Braun LS5560 Silk & Soft Ladyshave hi - thats the one I chose. Seems solidly built - only used it a couple of time but seems fine (how excited can one get about a shaver?!). It has various (unnessessary ) head attachments but doesn't have a protective cover to protect the foil - which is a pity - just have to be careful. Claims to charge in 1 hour (which is good) but can run mains if necessary - which is a plus over my previous Remington. H
