ali-s
Rupert (already named by CPL lady) is coming to live with us on the 15th December when he is 12 weeks old and he had had all his vacinations. He is a dark tabby boy and is nearly 4 weeks old. I was sent a photo of him to my mobile and he is just the cutest Kitten ever I can go and visit him in 3 or 4 weeks when his mum has been rehomed. I don't think I can stand the 2 months wait. The 15th December is the last date for rehoming until the new year so I am lucky I will not have to wait another 2 weeks until Christmas is over. A visit to Pets At Home last night for Kitten supplies shopping, I spent a small fortune . I just hope Miley Cat will like him , Archie Dog I know will be fine about having another Cat in the house

You need a 12 year old...they can do anything electronic...failing that a 9 year old is pretty useful Sha x

Maybe I got some sort of cable device to connect my phone to the computer for downloading or is it uploading pictures she will know

ali-s
A very sad day here at the Cottage. This morning our darling one year old cat Miley was run over in the lane and killed The lane is very quiet and only goes to the Castle, cars using it can't go fast as it is very narrow. DS Jack found her on his way to work . We were in Edinburgh until this evening and Jack told me about Miley when we arrived home a short while ago. Tomorrow I was going to phone the CPL lady for an update on Rupert. Do you think it will go against us if Miley has been killed near to the house? We haven't had our home check yet. Part of me wants to keep quiet about Miley's death and another part of me wants to ask if there is any chance of adopting another Kitten or even an adult Cat as well as Rupert. Miley was DD Natalie's Cat, I haven't told her yet as she was very tired when we got home and went straight to bed. I don't know how I am going to tell her the sad news

Snowy
Oh that is so sad Ali, I'm so sorry I do hope it won't go against you, what are the chances of that happening on such a quiet road? You have just been very very unlucky there. I hope you manage to get the two you want. (((hugs))) xx
bellekatz
Sorry to hear this. Quiet lanes are the worst as cats that live near busy roads are generally pretty good at staying away form them, whereas cats that live on quiet lanes aren't used to sharing their roads with cars I do hope the CPL wont fuss too much about it. Surely a home for two cats has to outweigh the risk of losing another cat on the lane....... Hope your daughter has not been too upset - my son has been inconsolable when he lost his cat 3 years ago - he still has her ashes in his room and even now isnt ready to scatter them in the garden - its amazing how attached they get. ali-s
I've still not told Natlie yet. she was away early with her Dad for a swimming competition, I will tell her tonight when she gets home. Miley's toys are still scattered about the kitchen floor, I can't bear to put them away just yet. The house seems strange without her , even when she was outside she stayed close and I could usually see her fom one of the windows. I have decided to phone the CPL this morning and tell them what has happened. If they say I can't rehome Rupert I will look somewhere else for a Cat. I thought this place was ideal for Cats, little traffic and surrounded by fields, a perfect playground. Fingers crossed the CPL will be understanding

ali-s
Today is getting a little better I have spoken to the CPL lady and everything is still going ahead with Rupert..... and Spock Spock is a black and white kitten in her care who has been sadly mistreated in his short life. He was found starved, aenemic and flea ridden with his mum and 3 other kittens. He is older than Rupert (who is now 7 weeks old) but a lot smaller. He is being treated as a much younger kitten and will be ready for re homing the same time as Rupert. I'm not sure about his name and will probably change it to either George or Spike. I still haven't been to visit Rupert as I have to wait until his Mum has gone home. The owners of Mum haven't been in contact with the CPL since they took her in when she was pregnant, the owners were supposed to taking the Mum back. The CPL haven't any space to seperate Mum from the Kittens and so they are still altogether.

ali-s
Seems ages since I first posted about Rupert coming to join us at the cottage. Tonight I have got my homecheck. I have cleaned the cottage from one end to the other All being well I collect Rupert and Spock this Saturday 10 days earlier than I expected. We still can't agree on a new name for Spock Natalie now wants to call him Olly or George. I am sure a name will come to us when he gets here.
